Karen is an award-winning artist who has been in love with art since childhood. During her successful business career, she stayed involved with the art world by taking classes and collecting art. In 2002, she left the business world to follow her dream of becoming a full time artist and has never looked back.
Karen has studied with some of the finest landscape painters in the region along with nationally acclaimed masters. She is a member of several art organizations and her landscapes have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions over the past 14 years. Karen’s paintings are included private art collections across the country and Canada.
Constantly inspired by the world around her, Karen captures the moods and colors of nature with oil paints. She finds inspiration everywhere from grand vistas to small places. When translating these images to her canvas, her goal is to capture those qualities of her subjects that are most timeless, mood inspiring, and sometimes a little bit mysterious. But always it is the light, the patterns, moods and colors it creates and how she reacts to it that is at the heart of her art.
Karen sums up her life as an artist this way: “I love painting and find its infinite possibilities a source of constant excitement. I picture myself many years from now-- if I am very lucky-- covered in paint and still thrilled to watch as three dimensional forms emerge from my flat canvas.”
